Physical Education   ball

Each physical education teacher takes into account the various develomental levels of each student, while leading the students through activities that develop a good self-concept and individual success.  Skills are taught through teaching techniques such as exploration, guided discovery, and problem solving which challenges each student to achieve his or her potential.
The critical learning components are broken down into a scope and sequence of age appropriate skills (K-5).  That scope and sequence includes:  perceptual motor skills, manipulative skills, locomotive skills, health related fitness and body development skills, sports skills and games, lifetime activities, stunts, tumbling, apparatus, psycho social aspects of an activity, and concepts fundamental to movement skills in strategies and activities.  Lessons are developed using themes or the concepts approach, which is working from the simple to complex, and from the concrete to the beginning of abstract thinking.  Whenever possible lessons and activities are taught in conjunction with classroom activities and themes.  Activities that promote good sportsmanship, cooperation, and teamwork are taught to enhance the emotional components for a positive self-concept and a confident self worth in one's own abilities.  As we know, how children feel about themselves greatly influences their achievement level.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact either of us.  We truly enjoy working with your children.
